Practices with Promise Success Story

Submitted By: Derek Lerch, Feather River College

Steps to Compliance

  • Consortium: Feather River Adult Education Consortium
  • Type of Practice: Data & Accountability
  • Objective(s):
    Respond to short-term data reporting needs required by AEBG
  • Organizations that were involved: Plumas Unified School District; Plumas County Office of Education; Sierra County Office of Education; Sierra Joint Unified School District; Feather River College

The Challenge

Feather River Adult Education Consortium (FRAEC) lacked expertise in data and accountability. Following the guidance of a former consortium employee, a plan was developed and submitted to the state. This plan did not follow state guidance.

The Solution

FRAEC, via consulting services, was able to bring the consortium into compliance with state guidelines for the use of these funds.

FRAEC is fully compliant with state mandated data and accountability requirements through the purchase of CASAS eTests, TOPSpro Enterprise, and various online curricula that collect ongoing, formative student performance data.

The Data

The Data and Accountability allocation has been fully spent. All member districts are now following a data-driven instructional model.
